UC Health Anschutz Cancer Pavilion
Aurora, CO
Project Spotlights – Tremco BUR Cold Applied – 30,500 Square Feet
Completed August 2022
Description: Full tear off of existing fully tapered gravel built roof system down the structural concrete deck. Replace with 2 layers of 2.6″ polyisocyanurate, 1/4″ per 12″ tapered insulation, and 1/2″ Dens Deck Prime all set in low rise foam. 2 layers of Composite Ply HT felt and 1 layer of Powerply HT granulated cap sheet all set in BIO adhesives. With Alphaguard BIO liquid flashings at all penetrations.
Challenge: Replace an aging roof system over a highly sensitive hospital environment where odors and VOC’s are completely unacceptable and with very little roof access from adjacent grounds.
LCI Solution: LCI worked closely with TREMCO Inc. and UC Health to design a roof system to release ZERO odors or VOCS into the surrounding campus ensuring the health and safety of patients and staff. Pre-planning and logistics meetings confirmed the need for rooftop loads and crane work to only be done on weekends. With all materials stored off site. The crew arrived at 4am to ensure tear off operations did not interfere with the sensitive operations in the building that started around 9 AM.
Warranty: 20 Year NDL Tremco Incorporated
